After School Homework Support — Program Information

LEP (Learning Enhancement Program)

At ACS Athens we aim to provide an inclusive learning culture that empowers learners to develop agency and become independent, reflective learners who thoughtfully consider their own ideas and experience.  To achieve our mission, the Learning Commons runs the LEP which is a homework support program.

LEP provides a structured and supportive learning culture that accommodates diverse learning needs, allowing learners to complete homework, strengthen academic and

organizational skills. Instructors encourage learners to take ownership of their learning by managing their academic commitments, reflecting on their progress, and developing confidence, resilience, and self-awareness to become independent, principled, and lifelong learners.

LEP is not designed as a one-on-one tutoring service.  Instead, instructors provide targeted guidance and collaborative support, helping learners stay on track with their academic commitments, work through challenges, and develop effective approaches to learning. Through this process, learners are encouraged to become active inquirers and thinkers who approach challenges with confidence, determination, and integrity.

Schedule

The program runs from Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM and is held throughout the Learning Commons and designated school classrooms.
