Professional Development

Professional Development (PD) is an integral part of the ACS Athens philosophy of education. Faculty, administrators and specialists engage in continuous learning and skill building. Implementing and supporting collaborative structures that encourage faculty to share leading practice, problem solving, and expand upon their teaching methods to improve student learning is continuously in process. PD involves innovation through team teaching, Action Research, Collaborative Learning Communities, the New Faculty Orientation Program, New Colleagues Program, grade level teams, peer classroom visitations, publications in books and journals, book studies and workshop presentations. Also, faculty and staff are given the opportunity to create their own comprehensive professional development plan with the help of administration through the Pathways Program, managed by the Professional Development Team.

Collaborations with NESA and ECIS continue as our faculty and staff are exposed to numerous professional development opportunities throughout the year while they connect with others in the international educational community and build on best practices.
