Database Research and Literacy Studio
Located on the 2nd floor of the H.J. Sabbagh Library, the Database Research and Literacy Studio supports and promotes reading and research activities in our community. The staff is available to assist Middle School and Academy students in finding the reading resources they need to develop a love of reading and to research the topics they would like to learn more about.
From one-on-one sessions to seminars and workshops, the Database Research and Literacy Studio helps Middle School and Academy students find valid and relevant information for independent projects, curriculum research papers and extended essays. Students are also able to find reading level appropriate fiction and non-fiction articles and books for their pleasure and their learning.

The Sabbagh Library / Database Research and Literacy Studio offers the following services:
- Assistance with locating books - Our library has more than 20,000 books both fiction and non-fiction to choose from. Our fiction collection consists of Classic Fiction books and Young Adult Fiction books in all the different genres: Fantasy, Realistic, Historical, Mystery, Dystopia and Science Fiction. In addition, there are many Non-Fiction books on different topics for reading and for research. The ACS Athens Library Catalog can be found in Moodle under the "Library Database Resources" at the top of the Home page.
- Assistance using ACS Athens available Databases - ACS Athens subscribes to a number of research databases which are a good place to start your research. The databases available are: EBSCO, SIRS, Britannica and Artstor. You may access to these databases in Moodle under the "Library Database Resources" at the top of the Home page.
A student may visit the Math / Science Studio:
- During lunch break
- After school, from 4pm to 5pm
- During flex time or any free block
