Mr. Dimitropoulos is a Physical Education Teacher and Coordinator for Physical Education. Mr. Dimitropoulos was raised in Athens, Greece. He earned his Bachelor Degree in Physical Education from the University of Physical Education and Sport Science in Athens (1996) and then received his Masters Degree through an International Olympic Committee's Program (MEMOS - Executive Masters in Sports Organisation Management), from University of Lyon, France (2001).
Mr. Dimitropoulos has worked as the Baseball Competition Manager for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games and has also observed the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. He has published a book on baseball.
He recently authored a chapter in the 2016 publication "Revolutionizing K-12 Blended Learning through i2Flex Classroom Mode".
He has been the Varsity Girls Basketball coach, Varsity Boys Volleyball coach and HS Track & Field coach since 2006.
Mr. Dimitropoulos is a certified lifeguard and an emergency responder (CPR/First Aid for adult/child/infant).
Ms. Dimitropoulou was born and raised in Athens, Greece. She earned her bachelor degree in Physical Education from the University of Physical Education and Sport Science in Thrace (2019).
She has been playing volleyball since 2004 for Athina Magoufana’s team. While studying in Komotini she was a member of the Niki Alexandroupolis team in the A2 national division for two years. Having received her degree in Physical Education she returned to Athens where she currently plays for her old team, Athina Magoufana.
Ms. Dimitropoulou has been coaching the Magoufana’s team since 2014 and was also an instructor at the ACS Athens Summer Camp in 2017 & 2018.
This is the first year she is coaching the JV Girls Volleyball team.
Ms. Labrini Rontogiannis was born and raised in Montreal, Canada and moved to Athens in 2004. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Cell Biology at McGill University and a Bachelor of Education, specialization in Science and English Literature, also from McGill. She recently completed a M.Ed. specializing in Educational Technology at the University of Calgary. This year Ms Rontogiannis is teaching Science in the Middle School and AP Environmental Science.
Ms. Rontogiannis has been teaching at the ACS Athens since 2005 and she takes pride in getting involved in all aspects of student life; both in and out of the classroom. She has coached Girls Junior Varsity and Varsity Volleyball teams for a number of years, at ACS Athens and in Montreal Public Schools. Her dedication to athletics extends outside school where she recently earned certification as an official indoor cycling (Spinning) instructor.
This year she is coaching Varsity Girls Volleyball.
Ilias Karapiperis was born in Beirut, Lebanon. He has a Bachelor's degree in Commercial Shipping from London Guildhall University. He has played soccer in numerous amateur clubs and has an UEFA B' coaching license. Mr. Karapiperis has been coaching soccer academies since 1996 and has worked with Olympiakos F.C. Academies Network from 2002-2012 and is the founder and owner of Nikites F.C. Academy since 2004.
A graduate of the ACS Athens class of 1992, Mr. Karapiperis had been a member of the varsity soccer team in grades 10, 11, 12 and was the captain during his senior year. He considers coaching youngsters to be his life mission and through soccer, he aims in inspiring and influencing students to believe in their will power, discover their strengths and acquire values that set the foundation for a successful and fulfilling future.
Mr. Nick Naoum was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa and holds a coaching certificate in soccer.
He has coached boys and girls soccer at all levels and has also been a Varsity Coach at ACS Athens for several years. As an athlete Mr. Naoum has played soccer in semi-pro level and was a member of the Belgian league for the team of Anderlecht.
Mr. Naoum is an ACS Athens alumnus (class of 1979).
Mr. Mikros was born in New Jersey and raised both in the United States and Greece. He earned a bachelor’s in History from Kean University in Union, New Jersey, and a Post Bachelor’s degree in Physical & Health Education (K-12). He is certified by the State of New Jersey to teach Physical Education and Health.
In 2013, Mr. Mikros co-presented a workshop at the ECIS Physical Education Conference, Surrey Sports Park, England, titled “Ice-breakers, Bonding Activities for the First Days of School”.
Mr. Mikros is an emergency responder (CPR/First Aid for adult/child/infant) a certified wall climbing instructor, and a certified lifeguard.
He has been a member of the ACS Athens faculty since 2005 teaching in the elementary school, middle school and high school. This year Mr. Mikros will be teaching physical education in the middle school.
Mr. Mikros is also the coach for both the Junior Varsity Boy’s Soccer and Middle School Track & Field Teams.

Ms. Gorack was born and raised in Algonquin, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. She went to college at Western Illinois University where she received her undergrad in bilingual/bicultural education. She is currently studying for her masters degree in integrated curriculum. After graduating from Western Illinois University she began her teaching career in a first grade bilingual classroom. During her years of teaching she has taught kindergarten to 8th grade ESL/Bilingual students in various subjects. This is now her 3rd year as the 7th grade LA teacher at ACS.
She is a certified soccer coach and has been coaching girls and boys soccer for the last 7 years. She has been the JV girls soccer coach at ACS for the last two years and is excited to begin her third year coaching. Ms. Gorack enjoys playing all sports but soccer and Gaelic football are her favorites. When she isn't playing sports or coaching she enjoys traveling and trying new foods.
Mrs. Alexandra Komnou is a Greek-Canadian born and raised in Greece. She earned a Diploma in Sports Science at the University of Portsmouth and then transferred with an athletic scholarship to the University of Arizona where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Coaching.
Alexandra Komnou was a professional Track and Field athlete and member of the Greek National team for more than 12 years and has broken 14 national records in the 60 and 100m hurdles. She has competed in multiple Balkan, European and World Championships with great success.
She has worked for 6 years as a PR and marketing & communication manager in a digital & print publication company.
Mr. Tsichlas was born and raised in Athens, Greece.
He earned a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education & Sports Science from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, specializing in Swimming. He is also a certified lifeguard, and an emergency responder (CPR/First Aid for adult/child/infant).
Over the past years Mr. Tsichlas has worked as a swimming coach in swimming clubs, in after school activities (swimming), and in the ACS Athens swimming academy. He is a member of the Coaches Association of Swimming, Water Polo, and Diving, as well as a licensed professional coach of swimming (Level A), as administered by the General Secretariat of Sports. He has attended several seminars organized by the National Federation of Swimming, and the swimming coaches association.
This year Mr. Tsichlas is coaching the ACS Athens Middle School Swimming team.
Ms. Constantinides was born in Cairo, Egypt. She earned a Bachelor of Education in Physical Education and French Language at McGill University; she received an M.A. in Exercise Physiology from the same institution, an M.Sc. in Sports Administration from Louisville University and an MBA from University of Indianapolis.
Ms. Constantinides is an ACS Athens Alumnus (class of '79) and returned to ACS Athens as a Middle School Physical Education teacher in 1986. She holds the position of Athletic Director since 1998.
Ms. Constantinides was the event manager in a number of International Sports projects, such as the McDonalds Classic in Paris, the NBA Jam Tour in Greece, the NBA 3 x 3 tour in Greece. In addition, she has worked in the Sydney 2000 Olympics, was the Venue and Competition Manager for Softball in the Athens 2004 Olympics and was the appointed Technical Delegate for Softball in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, as well as the venue and sport manager for the Special Olympics that took place in Athens in July 2011. She was the Assistant Technical Delegate of the World Summer Special Olympic Games of 2015 in the sport of softball.
She was a member of the ISST Executive Board from 2006-09, a member of the International Softball Federation Executive Board from 2008-09, is presently on the Executive Board of the SCIS Conference (Sports Council of International Schools) and is the recipient of the “Women and Sport” Award by the International Olympic Committee.
Born and raised in Athens, Greece, Theodora Panteli holds an A.D in Science from Jacksonville College and a B.A with a major in English Literature, Global Culture & Rhetoric, a double minor in Theater Studies and Philosophy, Politics & Law from the State University of New York at Binghamton. She spent her senior year working as a Teaching Assistant for Harpur College and the Departments of English and Theater Studies.
For the past 7 years she has been working as Learning Specialist. This would be her third year in ACS and the Academy. For the past two years she was the guidance specialist for 11th & 12th grade advisory while this year she will be the guidance specialist for 9th and 10th grade advisory. She is also a certified IB CAS advisor, offering guidance to IB students and providing them with opportunities to complete the requirements for CAS successfully.
She was a professional athlete for 14 years and the first Greek female athlete to ever be awarded with a full athletic scholarship(NCAA D1). She was a member of the Greek National Team and the captain of Binghamton women's basketball team. Theodora, is also working as a sports journalist for NovaSports Channel while she is also studying to finish her MSPsy- in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Ms. Grigoria Pateraki was born in Chania, Crete and raised in both Chania and Athens. She attended Lamar University and Texas Woman’s University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Ms. Pateraki attended both Universities on a full Athletic Scholarship in Basketball and was working as an event staff member for the Department of Athletics of Texas Woman’s University for three years while completing her studies. Furthermore, she has been a member of the Greek National team for eight consecutive years and is currently playing professional basketball for Esperides Kallitheas (Greek A1 League).
Ms. Pateraki is working as an Athletics & Summer Camp Administrative Assistant and has also been the JV Girls Basketball Coach for the last three years.
Mr. Justin Cramer grew up outside of Kansas City, Missouri. He went on to Buena Vista University where he earned his B.A. in General Science with an emphasis on Biology, and Secondary Education. He taught at Centerville High School in Centerville, Iowa for three years teaching a variety of science subjects including Earth Science, Biology, Environmental Science, and Chemistry for grades 7-12. He moved back to Kansas City and taught at William Chrisman High School in Independence, Missouri for five years teaching Biology, Physical Science, and Astronomy. He earned a M.A. in Secondary Education Administration from University of Central Missouri in Education and has aspirations of becoming a school principal.
This is his third year at ACS Athens and he will be teaching ninth grade Biology and AP Environmental Science. His goal as a science teacher is to help students find at least one scientific fact that amazes them. He looks forward to working on that goal at ACS Athens.
Outside of school Mr. Cramer enjoys being active, playing sports (and watching his beloved sports teams), watching movies, listening to music, traveling, visiting the beach, and reading.
Ms. Efi Karatopouzi earned her BA with a specialization in Track and Field at the School of Physical Education and Sports Science at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 2017, she earned her B.A. in Child Psychology at the University of the Aegean. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in School Psychology. She holds a degree in Yoga and has participated in personal development courses on teaching methods for large classes as well as teaching physical education to kids with autism. She is an official Archery, Track and Field, and National Nordic coach.This year Ms Karatopouzi earned a Mindfulness certificate in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) from the University of Michigan. She holds a life-guarding certification from the Red Cross. Ms. Karatopouzi was born in Greece and grew up in Australia and Greece.
Ms. Karatopouzi has a rich experience in physical education. She has worked as a fitness teacher for many years in several sports clubs for adults and children and as a volunteer physical education teacher at Zanneio Institution, where she worked with abused children. She has been a member of the Greek National Track & Field team for 15 years and has competed in national and international competitions in Greece and abroad. She is co-founder and co-creator of Fitness Nordic. She is also the author of a children's book on exercise; a new way to make kids' fantasy work with creativity by listening and exercising.
Ms. Karatopouzi began working at ACS Athens in 2016 as a Physical Education Teacher in the Elementary School and has undertaken different posts in the Athletic Department in all three schools and in ACS Athens Summer Camp. In 2017, she piloted a mindfulness program, called Mind Body Soul (MBS) for students in Junior Kindergarten classes, which will continue to run this year. The MBS Program is also continuing in a very positive way in all classes in Elementary school She presented her research findings about this pilot program at the International Mindfulness Convention, held in Slovenia. She has also offered her services voluntarily to the Youth to Youth Program at ACS Athens. She also presented a workshop on mindfulness strategies to use in the physical education classroom at the ECIS Physical Education Conference in Barcelona.
Mr. Chris Kourtis studied Physical Education and Sports Science at the University of Athens, where earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 2003 specializing in Tennis.
He has been actively involved in teaching Physical Education at ACS Athens since 2009, at all three school levels. Currently, he is teaching 7th grade Physical Education.
In 2018, Mr. Kourtis was recognized from Stanford University for exceptional teaching and his dedication as an educator and a mentor.
Besides his teaching background, Mr. Kourtis, is a certified lifeguard, a (level D) wall climbing operator/supervisor and has successfully completed the Emergency First Response Course that follows current guidelines for emergency patient care.
He has been coaching tennis since 2001 and in 2007, joined the ACS Athens Tennis Academy coaching team. He is also the coach of the ACS Athens Middle School Tennis team.
Mr. Chris Kourtis was born and raised in Athens, Greece.
Mr. Schoenefeld was born in Dusseldorf / Germany. He attended the DTB/VDT tennis trainer education for four years and has received three of the highest Tennis training diplomas with different specializations during this time, which are all recognized by the ITF.
His specializations reach from "mini tennis" over "main stream club tennis" up to "training and Micro, Meso, Makro training/ tournament planning" and the training of sport psychological components of and for professional tennis players. He has worked as an assistant tennis instructor at Universities tennis teams and as Head coach at Dusseldorf Tennis academy. He worked as the tennis department manager of a Greek sports company, providing tennis training and sport activities in various athletic facilities around Athens.
In addition, he has attended various seminars as "tennis specific conditioning", "Importance of general and tennis specific coordination in Tennis", "Biomechanical Importance and developments in tennis", "Sport psychological aspects and their importance in professional Tennis"; also, he has completed an emergency first response course that follows current guidelines for emergency patient care, and many more.
He has been at ACS Athens for the past 12 years, and manages the ACS Athens Tennis Academy as its supervisor and Head coach. In addition, he is the head coach of the ACS Athens High School tennis team.
