Chen, Hsuen-Chin, Faculty, Chinese, World Language Coordinator

Dr. Chen was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. She holds a B.S. in Medical Laboratory and Biotechnology from Chung Shan Medical University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Immunology from National Taiwan University. Before joining ACS Athens, she worked in pharmaceutical representation and Chinese-English translation and taught Chinese to children and adults in Athens. These experiences developed the cross-cultural communication skills and international perspective that continue to shape and inspire her teaching.

Since joining ACS Athens in 2018, Dr. Chen has taught Chinese Language and Literature in both Middle School and High School. As World Languages Coordinator, she focuses on curriculum alignment, instructional innovation, and program development across languages, ensuring cohesive, rigorous, and inclusive learning pathways for students.

Her action research project, Improving Equity and Engagement in Chinese Learning Through Edpuzzle (2020–2025), was presented as an academic poster at the ACS Athens Colloquium in April 2026. She previously advised the Chinese-Greek Intercultural Club, fostering intercultural dialogue and global citizenship. In 2026, she also contributed to the Languages on the Table event, a cross-language collaboration involving Chinese, Greek, and Spanish.

Dr. Chen is committed to supporting students’ academic achievement while developing the empathy, intercultural understanding, and communication skills they need to become responsible global citizens.
