The Christos M. Perakis Academic Scholarship
We are deeply honored to announce the establishment of an Academic Scholarship in memory of the late Christos M. Perakis, a cherished member of our community whose legacy touched many individuals around the world. This initiative seeks to honor his legacy by providing financial support to a student who exemplifies the values and qualities defined by this individual.
Christos was a successful visionary leader, an entrepreneurial force, and a beacon of integrity and kindness (see short bio here). As a successful entrepreneur and visionary, he advocated for Greece’s startup ecosystem and believed in the potential of young entrepreneurs, helping them realize their dreams. Through mentorship and investment, Christos empowered countless founders to capitalize on their potential, offering not just his expertise but also his unwavering support and belief in their abilities. His approach to business was not just about achieving success, but about doing it with integrity and care. Christos was known for his honesty, his strong ethical principles, and his ability to bring out the best in those around him. He was a team player, a strategic thinker, and a trusted leader who inspired confidence and loyalty in everyone he worked with.
Students applying for scholarships must first be admitted to ACS Athens as students before any scholarship consideration. The criteria for this scholarship are as follows:
- Academic excellence with a GPA of 3.5 or 18 and above;
- Students attending Greek school and Greek citizens;
- Fluent in the English Language
- Demonstrates leadership skills; and will be pursuing studies abroad in Global Management, Communications or Computer Sciences
- Demonstrates conscious citizenship;
- Demonstrates financial need;
- Provide a personal statement highlighting academic and career goals and vision for his/her future.
- Finalists will participate in an in-person interview with the committee members.
Scholarship Amount and Conditions:
This scholarship will be awarded annually, subject to available funding and contributions received. A selection committee will review all applications and determine the scholarship recipient. The student awarded the scholarship must maintain good academic standing throughout the duration of the award.
