ACS Athens is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Debate Team at the Deree Debate Tournament, held May 9–10, 2025. Hosted by the Deree Debating Society, this prestigious event follows the British Parliamentary format and draws top-tier student debaters from schools across the region.
Over two days of intensive rounds, our students showcased their ability to think critically, speak persuasively, and collaborate effectively—demonstrating not only technical skill but also maturity, professionalism, and sportsmanship.
Remarkable Achievements in Both Categories
In the Open Category (for experienced debaters), Kai Yuet Zhang advanced to the final round and was named Tournament Champion, along with her partner Artemis Papastavrou from HAEF. Kai also earned the distinction of 2nd Best Speaker Overall.
ACS Athens was further represented in the semi-finals by the strong team of Evgenia Bakamitsos and Danai Markouli, while Pavlos Broustas-Maceira and Timos Christodoulou narrowly missed a semi-final spot by just a few Speaker Points.
