Koliza, Adamantia, Faculty, Business Management
Adamantia Koliza was born and raised in Athens, Greece. She completed her undergraduate studies in Business Administration at the University of Piraeus. Following her passion for finance, she earned a Master's degree in Mathematical Finance and Risk Analysis at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Currently, she is pursuing a second Master's degree in Mathematics Education and Methodology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Before transitioning into education, Ms. Koliza spent five years in the private sector as a consultant and risk analyst, gaining extensive experience in business information, corporate evaluation, and financial risk analysis. Through her involvement in a variety of projects, particularly within the banking sector, she developed a strong understanding of financial decision-making and risk management.
Alongside Ms. Koliza has been supporting students for the past eleven years through tutoring and mentoring in Business, Economics, and Mathematics. Her combined experience in business and education enables her to connect theoretical concepts with real-world applications, fostering meaningful and engaging learning experiences.
This year is Ms. Koliza's third year as a member of the Academy's teaching staff. She has taught IB Business Management, the Business Management General Course, and this year she will also teach Theory of Knowledge (TOK). Beyond the classroom, she has served as an advisor to several student clubs, including business, community service and the National Honor Society (NHS).
Alongside her teaching responsibilities, Adamantia continues her research on Critical Mathematics and its role in multicultural school environments. She has also completed professional development seminars in special education and Braille writing.
Adamantia looks forward to another productive and inspiring year, collaborating with colleagues and empowering students to become thoughtful, ethical, and globally minded learners.
