Mavridou, Amalia, Elementary School Monitoring Aide

Ms. Amalia Mavridou is a Physical Education professional with experience in elementary education, student support, and working with children from diverse backgrounds. She holds a BSc in Physical Education and Sport Science from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with specializations in Track & Field Jumps and Taekwondo, and has also completed a semester abroad at the University of Burgundy, France.

Amalia previously worked as an Elementary School Permanent Substitute Teacher, supporting students across multiple grade levels and contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Through this experience, she developed a strong understanding of the importance of building trusting relationships with students, recognizing individual needs, and adapting her approach to support different learning styles and abilities. She particularly values creating a classroom environment where students feel safe, respected, encouraged, and confident in their learning.

Her educational experience also includes internships in primary and secondary schools, where she supported and delivered physical education activities, as well as her work with the Hellenic Olympic Committee’s Kids Love Sports program at the Panathenaic Stadium. In addition, she has supported inclusive educational and recreational activities for children and youth from diverse cultural backgrounds through collaborations with the International Organization for Migration and the Danish Refugee Council.

Alongside her work in education, Amalia is a Track & Field Coach at G.A.S. Holargou. Working with children and young athletes has further strengthened her communication, patience, teamwork, and ability to motivate and encourage students.

Amalia is passionate about supporting children’s academic, social, and personal development and enjoys working collaboratively with teachers, students, and the wider school community. She speaks Greek, English (C2), and French (B2), and holds a Level A Track & Field Coaching License.

This academic year, Ms. Mavridou will serve as a Monitoring Aide in the Elementary School, supporting the safe, orderly, and effective functioning of the school environment. Her responsibilities will include monitoring students and helping to ensure their safety and well-being, appropriately redirecting students when needed, and providing support and assistance to faculty and staff. She will also contribute to the smooth implementation of school processes and procedures, helping to maintain a positive, organized, and supportive learning environment for all members of our school community.
