Kolimpiri, Melpomeni, Faculty, Greek Language

Born and raised in Athens, Greece, Ms. Kolimpiri is an experienced educator with a strong academic background in the Humanities and over 25 years of teaching experience in Greek private education. She is a graduate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Department of  Philosophy, with a major in History and Archaeology. She also holds a Diploma in General and  Specialized Translation from English into Greek from the Hellenic American Union, as well as certificates in German and Italian. 

Since joining the ACS Athens community in 2018, Ms. Kolimpiri has taught Greek across Middle  School and Academy levels, bringing extensive experience in language, literature, and history to her practice. Since 2020, she has specialized in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme,  teaching Modern Greek IB Language A: Language and Literature. As a certified IB educator, she integrates inquiry, critical thinking, and student-centered learning into her classroom. 

Committed to lifelong learning, Ms. Kolimpiri continually seeks opportunities to refine her practice and respond effectively to diverse learners. She has completed professional development in teaching methodology, classroom effectiveness, inclusion, and the teaching of Greek as a Second or  Foreign Language through the University of the Aegean. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes education as a means of personal growth and positive social impact. She strives to create an inclusive environment where students develop as ethical, responsible, and conscious citizens who value dialogue, collaboration, cultural understanding, and their role in a diverse global community.
