Griego, Andrea, Academy Assistant Principal

Andrea Griego is an experienced international educator and school leader with more than 25 years in education and over a decade in leadership roles across diverse global settings. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, she has lived and worked in Dubai, Colombia, Shanghai, and Vienna, developing a broad international perspective and a deep appreciation for diverse school communities.

Most recently, Ms. Griego served as Primary Learning Support Department Leader and Accreditation Coordinator at Vienna International School, where she led the growth of inclusive practices, expanded learning support services, and strengthened systems to meet a wide range of academic and social-emotional needs. Previously, at Yew Chung International School in Shanghai, her leadership included supporting project-based learning, bilingual co-teaching, and initiatives that promoted student agency and global citizenship. Throughout her career, Ms. Griego has focused on building collaborative, inclusive learning environments where students and educators are empowered to thrive.

Ms. Griego holds a Master’s degree in Education and an Education Specialist (Ed.S) degree in Educational Leadership, along with U.S. teaching and administrative licensure. She is also actively involved in international education through the Council of International Schools, serving as an Evaluation Chair and Co-Chair and leading accreditation teams across multiple regions.

Outside of her professional work, Ms. Griego enjoys staying active through yoga,cross-training, and weightlifting. She also loves cooking, traveling, and experiencing different cultures. She looks forward to bringing her international experience and passion for inclusive education to the ACS Athens community.
