Welcome to ACS Athens
I warmly welcome our new families and students to ACS Athens and extend a heartfelt welcome back to our returning students and families as we begin another meaningful year together. It is truly gratifying to work alongside such outstanding educational leaders, faculty, and staff in a shared and purposeful venture: educating the world’s most valued citizens—the young citizens and leaders of tomorrow.
As we proudly celebrate the 80th anniversary of ACS Athens, we honor a school deeply grounded in history and tradition and energized by innovation, guided by academic excellence and a steadfast commitment to conscious global citizenship. For eight decades, ACS Athens has been a learning community dedicated to educating the whole child—mind, heart, and character—preparing students not only for success, but for lives of purpose, responsibility, and impact.
We take great pride in the achievements of our students, not only within our classrooms but far beyond the boundaries of our campus. Our graduates have gone on to distinguish themselves as innovative trailblazers, athletic champions, accomplished artists, leaders in politics, pioneers in the sciences—and some have even circled the moon several times. These accomplishments reflect the enduring strength of an education that inspires curiosity, courage, and confidence.
Our mission remains clear: to empower students to use their talents, the knowledge and skills they acquire, and the resilience they develop to improve life and living. This commitment is affirmed through our recognition by the Middle States Association as a Sustaining Excellence School, a testament to the quality of our programs and our culture of continuous growth. Our faculty exemplify lifelong learning through ongoing research, reflection, and inquiry, modeling the intellectual engagement we seek to cultivate in our students.
At ACS Athens, we believe deeply in developing conscious global citizens—individuals who value being fully human while connecting to a higher purpose; who respect human life, recognize the interconnectedness of all living things, and take responsibility for transforming skill into ethical action. Through expanded awareness of social, global, and environmental realities, students are empowered to assume personal responsibility, initiate positive impact, and contribute meaningfully to sustainability and collective well-being.
As we reflect on 80 years of purposeful education, we look ahead with confidence and resolve. United as a community of learners, educators, and families, ACS Athens continues its legacy of excellence—shaping thoughtful, compassionate, and courageous leaders committed to improving life and living on our planet.
We are ACS Athens, and our journey continues.
