Course 4: Forensic Biology: Unraveling the mysteries

A course for students entering grades 8-12

Can you crack the case with forensic biology? Be the next CSI!

As forensic biologists, students will be heading to the lab bench to learn techniques that help solve a wide range of mysteries such as linking suspects to crime scenes,discovering biological relationships, uncovering the sources of environmental pollution and biological contaminants as well as identifying diseases in historical remains. From microscopy, analyzing blood spatter and extracting DNA to examining hair, fibers, and other evidence, students will learn how biological evidence is collected, processed, and used to crack real-world cases. 

This hands-on course is designed around case scenarios and culminates with students becoming forensic experts to tackle a crime scene challenge.
