Balfoussia, Etheally, Math/Science Studio Assistant and Permanent Substitute Teacher, Faculty of Biology

Dr. Etheally Balfoussia was born in Athens and raised in both Greece and Australia. She holds a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Crete and a M.Sc. in Clinical Biochemistry and Molecular Diagnostics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). In 2013, she earned her Ph.D. in Proteomics from the NKUA Medical School. She has worked as a postgraduate student and a Ph.D. candidate at the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens, and has held a post-doctoral researcher position at NKUA Medical School. 

Dr. Balfoussia has taught Biology for over 15 years to students in the private sector. She also prepares graduate students for the Pharmacology College Admission Examination and supervises graduate and Ph.D. students throughout their studies.

In her free time, she enjoys swimming, nature walks, reading and drawing. Dr. Balfoussia was a six time Greek National Champion in the synchronized swimmer team routine. 

She has been a member of ACS Athens since October as a permanent substitute teacher and a Math/Science studio assistant.
