She has since taught mathematics in grades 6-8, was a mathematics specialist, assistant principal, and curriculum and instruction specialist in mathematics grades Kindergarten through 5th grade.

Her love for impacting students' interest in mathematics led her back into the classroom, and she is currently working on her Ph.D at Liberty University in Curriculum, Instruction, and Design. Her focus for her dissertation is how mathematical instruction is impacted in marginalized communities with a global viewpoint. During her 16 years in education, she focuses on building comprehension, understanding, and focus on the importance of mathematics in an innovative way to allow students to take charge of their learning in a way that best fits their personal learning style.

This is Ms. Ray’s first international teaching experience, and is looking forward to inspiring her students and colleagues to build a passion for mathematics as she teaches Pre-Algebra in Grade 7 and Mathematics in Grade 8.
