"Earlier this week at ACS Athens, in the 4th-grade Diving Deeper Session, we took a look at an interesting fractal pattern and practiced describing it using shapes and numbers.  

After brushing up on our fraction vocabulary and describing the shapes with fractions on Nearpod, we noticed a pattern in the numerators and denominators, which we used to infer the next shapes in the sequence. 

Students shared a variety of different ways of seeing the pattern and reasoning with fractions.

It is so exciting to see students get actively involved!
