Hatzis, Panagiotis, Permanent Substitute Teacher in Social Studies, IB Theory of Knowledge, Writing/Research Studio Specialist

Mr. Hatzis earned his Bachelor's degree in History with a minor in Psychology at New England College in New Hampshire. He holds a Master’s degree in History with a concentration in Modern European History from Bangor University in Wales.

Throughout the years, Mr. Hatzis gained experience as a teaching assistant at the University of Massachusetts Boston. His objectives were to maintain the classroom website, to work with the professor, and to assist students with their assignments. In addition, he was a History Peer tutor stationed in the New England College library during his Bachelor's degree. He guided students in writing research essays, and citations as well as final projects/capstones, and provided students with effective strategies to complete their assignments. He started working at ACS Athens in 2023, and has been working as a Substitute teacher. In the 2024-2025 school year, Mr. Hatzis will be part of the Writing/Research Studio while also teaching Social Studies 7, and IB Theory of Knowledge year 1.

He believes in supporting students toward their academic goals so that they can maximize their academic potential.
