Stefanidou, Roula, Faculty, Junior Kindergarten

Ms. Zacharoula Stefanidou holds a Bachelor of Science in Education with a minor in Child Psychology from the University of Houston. Before relocating to Greece, she worked with gifted and talented kindergarten and first-grade students, fostering their early learning experiences.

With three endorsements in Early Childhood, Kindergarten, and Gifted & Talented education, Ms. Stefanidou has dedicated her career to supporting young learners. She also contributed as a writing advisor in an early literacy writing project, collaborating with elementary schools to enhance writing instruction.

Apart from teaching, she also served as a part-time assistant principal in the elementary school where she taught, providing leadership and support to both students and faculty. During the summers, she coordinated activities for young children at the Greek Orthodox Community Center Summer Camp in Houston, further extending her passion for early childhood development beyond the classroom.

Currently in her ninth-year teaching in the PJ/JK classroom at ACS, Ms. Stefanidou continues to bring her dedication and expertise to her students. She was an active member and presenter for Kindergarten Teachers of Texas (KToT), where she led sessions encouraging fellow educators to integrate writing into their early childhood curriculum.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions to education, Ms. Stefanidou was honored as Teacher of the Year in 1986 by the Houston Independent School District (HISD). She strives to help every child grow both as a learner and as a person, fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.
