Settas, Sotiris, Elementary School Permanent Substitute Teacher

Mr. Sotiris Settas was born and raised in Piraeus, Greece, and holds a degree in History and Archaeology from the University of Crete. Alongside his academic studies, he completed his teaching certification, qualifying him to teach a wide range of subjects in the Greek language and humanities. For over eight years, Mr. Sotiris has provided personalized tutoring to students across all grade levels in literature, essay writing, ancient Greek, history, and Latin.

His deep passion for history has driven him to pursue advanced studies; he is currently in the final year of his Master's degree in Modern and Contemporary Greek History at the Hellenic Open University, further refining his expertise in the field. Mr. Sotiris has valuable teaching experience from the 9th General High School of Piraeus, where he developed effective strategies to engage students and foster meaningful learning.

In addition to his academic and teaching roles, he has been actively involved in archaeological excavations at the ancient site of Eleutherna, in the Rethymno region, strengthening his connection to Greece’s rich historical heritage.

Now in his second year as a permanent substitute teacher at an Elementary School, Mr. Sotiris is committed to making a positive and lasting impact on his students and the school community by creating a dynamic and enriching learning environment.
