Nikolareli, Ira, Administrative Assistant

With a diverse and rich background in education, health and child development, Ms. Ira Nikolarelis will be assuming the role of the Administrative Assistant to the Elementary School Principal at ACS Athens, bringing over a decade of multifaceted experience within the same institution. Her journey at ACS Athens began in 2012, with direct student-facing roles, including shadow teaching, substitute teaching across technology, library, and student services. She has also served as an English teacher and a Summer Camp Counselor, experiences that have deepened her understanding of the needs of young learners.

Ms. Nikolarelis has a strong academic foundation, which includes a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences with a major in Psychology from Northeastern Illinois University, complemented by psychoeducational experience as a Program Supervisor at Hartgrove Behavioral Health Hospitals of Chicago, IL. She was also actively involved with the Institute of Health Research and Policy along with UIC, focusing on education and youth development, sharpening her knowledge of systemic educational practices, policy development and data-informed decision making.

In her current administrative role, Ms. Nikolarelis draws upon a wide range of skills developed through her previous experiences: scheduling, managing student records, handling confidential information, coordinating events and communications, supporting teachers and leadership with logistical tasks, and maintaining alignment with ACS Athens school policies and procedures. Her hands-on work with students and faculty has made her exceptionally adept at problem-solving, multitasking, and adapting to the dynamic needs of a school environment.

Ms. Nikolarelis is deeply committed to building positive relationships with parents, students, and staff, and is known for her empathy, professionalism, and attention to detail. Passionate about nurturing young learners, she sees her role as essential in supporting children’s lifelong journeys as global citizens. Her dedication to holistic student development, paired with her professional versatility, makes her an invaluable member of the ACS Athens community.
