Bellfield, Marcell, Faculty, 4th Grade

Marcell Bellfield III is a 4th grade teacher at ACS Athens for the 2023-2024 school year. He is from Corpus Christi, Texas, USA and holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, master’s degree in business administration, professional teaching qualifications from America as a 4-8th grade generalist and served for many years as an international basketball coach. Prior to his arrival at ACS, Marcell taught Math and Science for 6 years, in Texas, to 5th and 6th grade students, receiving STAAR state awards and recognitions for improvements in science. In 2016, he journeyed his experiences towards several international destinations. In Beijing, China, he taught primary English at Beijing Foreign Studies University and later shifted duties to Nacel International School, teaching Biology Honors, Chemistry, and Algebra II. Pattaya, Thailand soon followed, as he served as the department head and lead teacher of middle school science at the International School Eastern-Seaboard. After this position, in St. Petersburg, Russia, Marcell became a secondary specialist in math, science, humanities, and English. His most recent experience was in Brasilito, Costa Rica, as a 5th grade homeroom teacher along with primary school coordinator.

Marcell finds extracurricular activities to be beneficial, in that it provides young minds healthy and diverse opportunities to develop and blossom their unique social and personal abilities through countless platforms of learning. His vast set of skills, talents, and experiences helps form a firm bridge that transitions student-thought from concrete to critical levels of comprehension. Implementing genuine forms of communication, creative independence, and diversified learning, students are given comfort and support through their journey of growth and achievement. He has discovered that by establishing realistic challenges for learners, their academic excursions remain enhanced, evolving their effectiveness as thinkers from the classroom into applications of real-world scenarios.
