Forensics & Public Speaking

for students entering grades 6-12

What will make you stand out in a crowd?

Need the confidence to win an argument or make your voice heard?

Forensics skills are skills for life: learn how to thrive in front of a crowd, never having to shy away when you are called upon to speak in public. With Debate you will learn how to construct an argument and see a topic from different angles. With Group Discussion you will learn how to converse effectively to analyze, synthesize, and go in depth with a problem. Impromptu Speaking will keep you on your toes, by teaching you how to come up with a coherent speech on the spot. Original Oratory will give your unique ideas a structure and a purpose. Finally, the more creative events of Oral Interpretation of Literature and Duet Acting will give you the flair you need to charm your audience with your reading or your acting. Public Speaking & Forensics will take you through a journey of discovery: we will explore the skills set of the 6 Forensics events and you will experience firsthand the transformative process of coming up with original ideas, creating a speech and delivering it with voice and poise in front of an audience. Get ready to go out in the world and thrive!
