Life, Leisure and Sports in Greece

for High School students

Καλώς ήρθατε! Have you ever thought how much the Olympic Games influenced the modern world? What is the first thing that people outside of Greece have in their mind for Greece? Why do souvlaki, syrtaki dance, and traditional celebrations travel all over the world? Music, arts, sports and leisure are presented in a way to engage students in many motivating, interesting and interactive activities in and out of class. A variety of texts and videos are used to promote Greek in different ways. Students will be exposed to Greek dancing and traditions from all over Greece. The four skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking - are expanded to a more advanced level. Greek music, theater, arts and culture are introduced at every opportunity. Themes such as family, racism, civilization, technology, leisure, sports, health and everyday's life are discussed. Don't miss this great chance! (This course fulfills 0.5 ACS Athens graduation requirement as an elective).
