The International Competition for Young Debaters is a debating competition in the British Parliamentary format that was set up to encourage younger students to take up debating and to give them a chance to debate against students of their own age, with topics tailored to them. The hosting of the Final Round of the tournament alternates between the Oxford and Cambridge Unions in England.

The Athens Round was hosted by Ionios School on Saturday 16 February, and this year we celebrate another great success for the ACS Debating Society! Two of our teams, Marilina Bitsikas with Emma Soulanticas, and Elina Pipas with Caroline Vlachakou broke into the Semi-Finals of the competition, ranking in the top 8 out of 40 teams. Marilina Bitsikas and Emma Soulanticas proceeded to qualify to the Final Round (top 4 teams out of 40 in the competition), which will be held at the Cambridge Union on Saturday 27 April.

Good luck, stay strong & keep up the good work!
