The 8th-grade class had the opportunity to participate in a community service project along with the Hadjipaterion Children Support and Rehabilitation Center.
The Hadjipaterion Center promotes independence, inclusion, and socialization of children with cerebral palsy. This service-learning experience links to the UN Sustainable Development Goals that 8th-grade students are exploring around the topics of equity, specifically, Goal 3, Good Health and Wellbeing, Goal 4 on Quality Education, and Goal 10 on Reduced Inequalities.
The 8th-grade students spread holiday cheer and joy by providing Santa Claus gifts for the children of the Center, which they specially selected during their advisory classes, wrapped, and wrote individual cards for. The gifts were then organized and sent to the Center. Our students connected through a Google meet with the children of the Center in order to participate in their Christmas party, where the children expressed their thanks and exchanged holiday wishes as they received their gifts.
