At ACS Athens, our commitment to empowering young minds extends beyond the classroom, as our students continue to demonstrate their capacity to inspire change and shape a better future.
This was evident at the 22nd Annual Corporate Responsibility Conference, organized by the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, where ACS Athens students participated in a panel discussion titled "Youth: The Bridge of the Future." The panel, which was moderated by Ms. Ada Gianneskis, Director of Communications at IKEA, highlighted the vital role young people play in addressing pressing global challenges and shaping tomorrow’s solutions.
In this panel, our students presented the ACS Athens “Youth to Youth” Educational and Social Integration Program, which provides essential support for unaccompanied minors in Athens. This transformative initiative, now encompassing both full-time and part-time programs, connects ACS Athens students with refugee minors through a unique student-to-student partnership model. The program addresses the educational and social needs of refugee minors, promoting both academic growth and social integration.
The Youth to Youth Program not only benefits the refugee minors, offering them meaningful educational experiences, but also helps ACS Athens students grow as compassionate leaders. Designed to foster the development of lifelong learners and global citizens, the program instills values of empathy, responsibility, and leadership in our students. By working closely with refugee minors, ACS students are empowered to take on leadership roles and actively contribute to the creation of a more inclusive and understanding society.
At the heart of this initiative are individuals whose dedication has been instrumental in its success. A special thank you goes to Ms. Angela Chamosfakidis, whose guidance has been pivotal in shaping this transformative endeavor. We also extend our gratitude to Ms. Julia Tokatlidou and Ms. Eleni Athanatou, the Director and Assistant Director of the Youth to Youth Program, whose unwavering commitment to shaping the next generation of global leaders has made a lasting impact.
Together, we are building a brighter future—one grounded in compassion, leadership, and global awareness.
