"After spending much time in the kitchen baking carrot breadsticks for my daughter, I thought: “Why not do it with my students as well?”

As we had been in a state of lockdown for the past months. I watched my young students getting tired of the lockdown and the screen, and that was the moment that I made the connection:

We will bake the letters of the Greek Alphabet using the carrot dough!

I communicated this idea with colleagues and supervisors who thought that it would be interesting.

Kids loved the idea. Parents supported me on this, and I couldn’t have made it without their invaluable help.

I logged in to the BBB session, and after a few minutes, I saw my little chefs ready and smiling.

It had been a long time since I last saw so many smiling faces, counting the days back to school, when I could only see their eyes smiling because of the masks.

We wore our aprons; we prepared our measured ingredients and took a deep breath.

I named the ingredients in Greek, and students added them to the big bowl.

After kneading the dough for a couple of minutes, the mixture was ready to get a new shape, as an Uppercase and a Lowercase Greek letter, or even our names.

Early the next morning, I received a baking tray with my name written with carrot dough!!! My last name must have been delicious !!!

It is a moment that I do not want to forget, and I am sure our young learners will not either.

During the lockdown, almost everyone eats a little more than usual; at least we learn at the same time!

I am so happy for my little ACS Athens chefs!"
