Geometry with Algebraic Topics Regular

Credit gained: 1 high school credit upon successful completion

Prerequisites

To enroll in the ACS Athens Virtual Geometry with Algebraic Topics course students must meet the criteria below:

  • Student performance in the first quarter of the current face-to-face Algebra 1 (HS) or Foundations of Geometry course will be evaluated with an emphasis on Quarter 1 assessments. Students are expected to perform B and above to be considered for any of the math online courses.

  • Teacher’s recommendation.

  • Counselor’s input to ensure alignment with the student’s academic path.

Course description

*Upon successful completion of this virtual course, students will be required to take a face-to-face placement test, which will be scheduled a week after the final exams, to determine accurate placement in their next on-campus Mathematics course at ACS Athens:

  • To progress from Geometry with Algebraic Topics to Algebra 2 & Trigonometry, students must earn a passing grade on both their Geometry with Algebraic Topics Regular virtual course and the face-to-face placement test.
  • To progress from Geometry with Algebraic Topics to IB Applications & Interpretations SL, students must earn a B- or above on both their Geometry with Algebraic Topics Regular virtual course and the face-to-face placement test.
