General Meeting and Board Elections on May 9, 2017

PTO GM and Board Elections

Dear ACS Athens Parents,

The PTO would like to invite you to our regularly scheduled General Meeting of May 9 where you can find out about all of the exciting upcoming events & activities.

In addition, the PTO Board Elections will take place that day : Come and vote for your new PTO board for the next school year!

International Spring Fair - May 20, 2017

Dear ACS Athens Parents, Students, Faculty and Friends:

The PTO is very happy to invite you to one of the more anticipated events of the year - the annual PTO International Spring Fair.

The Spring Fair, which will take place on Saturday May 20, 2017 at 12:00 - 16:00, on our campus is a festive event that brings together the entire ACS Athens community and its friends;  in addition, the Spring Fair also manages to raise funds for our school, via your donations and volunteer work, food and other sales.

In addition to the Food Court's delicious food offerings, wine, beer and other refreshments will be available for sale.   A US Marine Boot Camp will be set-up for children to try out, along with many Games, a Bounce House and Face Painting.

Finally, the event offers an excellent opportunity to find "treasures" (or empty your storage space...) in the Car Trunk Sale; various books can be found at the Used Books sale and a last but not least the always fun Silent Auction will take place.

With over 56 nationalities represented at our school, the Spring Fair offers a terrific opportunity to taste specialties and home-cooked food from around the world, and get to know cultures from all over the globe.  The International Food Court is the centerpiece of the Spring Fair offering the perfect opportunity for parents, friends, students and staff to get to know each other better, to be creative, to have fun and to taste delicacies from all over the world!

Join forces with your friends, prepare and donate dishes showcasing your country!   Dress up in national costumes!   Decorate your table with flags, and local items and much more...

YEIA (Young Entrepreneurs in Action) & Student Tables

Young Entrepreneurs in Action:  We invite all students to book a table and set up their own business either as an individual or group, as a school club, or to donate to a specific charity...  This is group entirely run by students!

Tables run by and benefiting a grade, club or charity are free of charge!.  For students setting up a table and selling or offering a service as Young Entrepreneurs there is a small charge of 15 € (and they keep all the profits!)

SILENT AUCTION

Silent Auction

If you wish to help out via the Silent Auction that is happening, here's how you can do it:

Make your own basket with any theme you can possibly imagine: a Coffee and Tea Basket, a Candle Basket, a Home Spa Basket, a Mani-Pedi Basket, a Baking Basket, a Beach Basket...  Just choose a theme and coordinate the items in the basket to reflect the theme you choose!

OR...

How about a certificate from your favorite vendor? Shops, salons, restaurants, hotels, service oriented businesses, those offering lessons or expertise... A workout session, a pilates lesson, a horseback riding lesson, a dinner for two, tickets to a sport / cultural event, the list goes on.  We will be happy to display anyone’s advertising information alongside the donation at the auction table.

Please be sure to include a retail value on your donation so that we may determine the correct opening bid.

All gifts/donations/prizes can be brought to ACS Athens and left with Ms. Melina Vassiliadis (Administration Building, 2nd floor.) — vassiliadism@acs.gr

The PTO would like to invite you to a Q & A Coffee Morning with Dr. Gialamas.  This is a great opportunity for parents to ask questions and voice concerns about all subjects.

Teacher Appreciation Week - Events Mar. 20 & 22, 2017

Please join the PTO in celebrating our very own superheroes during Teacher & Staff Appreciation week!

SuperBoost Breakfast on Monday, March 20 : Please bring in breakfast treats for our 'superboost breakfast', to your relevant school teachers lounge(s), by 8:00 - 8:30am.  Your pto reps will be in each lounge from 8:00am. to arrange & receive everything!

Power Lunch on Wednesday, March 22 : Please bring in food items for our 'Power Lunch' in honor of all teachers & staff.  Parents from each school are asked to please bring the following:

  • Elementary School - main dishes
  • Middle School - side dishes
  • Academy - desserts

We appreciate all of your support and help in showing our teachers and staff just how much they mean to us!
