The ES Assistant Principal is expected to participate in preschool orientation activities scheduled by the Administration.

Primary Function and Scope:

Responsibilities:
1. Student Life
- Oversee the implementation Elementary School Citizenship model to carry out the following:
- Monitor and analyze Elementary School student attendance.
- Communicate with parents regarding student support, attendance, and behavior.
- Work closely with faculty and the Child Study Team to develop student interventions and support.
- Work with students in support of the Elementary School Citizenship model to communicate consequences, mediate conflicts, and implement processes of restorative justice.
- Assist in the planning and implementing of programs for the health, safety, and welfare of the students.
2. Public Relations
- Assist in the communication between the school and the community.
- Assist in the development and presentation of parent information, meetings, and events as assigned by the principal.
3. Resource Management
- Assist in the planning and implementing of programs for the health, safety, and welfare of students.
- Assume responsibilities for the safety and administration of the school when applicable, as assigned.
- Direct and provide input into the preparation and management of the school budget.
- Monitor the maintenance of the school and school facilities; assist in the security of the building.
- Assist in Fire and Earthquake Drills.
- Oversee faculty and advisors in the coordination of field trips, including budget, procedures, communications, and implementation of the citizenship model.
4. Instructional Leadership
- Assist in the establishment of goals and objectives for the school.
- Provides leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs and tech ed tools (i.e. Moodle, skyward).
- Provides leadership in teaching techniques, innovation, and class organization.
- Coordinate student teachers and other partnerships within the building, as assigned.
- Manage specific academic departments as assigned.
- Serve as the acting Principal in the absence of the Elementary School Principal.
5. Development of Faculty and Staff
- Participate in meetings to provide information and collaborate with Elementary School administrators and teacher leaders.
- Assist the Principal in the recruitment of faculty, including reviewing candidate applications, interviewing prospective candidates, checking references, and taking part in the decision-making process for hiring new faculty.
- Assist in the determination of staff needs.
- Assist in developing the master schedule teaching assignments for the following school year.
- Supervise and evaluate substitute teachers in the Elementary School.
- Coordinate the revision of the teacher handbook as assigned.
- Coordinate Interns in teaching positions.
6. Professional Growth
- Participate in professional growth activities.

About Us:
The ACS Athens Tennis Academy is seeking a professional tennis coach for the upcoming academic year 2024-2025, with the possibility of immediate hire. Situated in an exclusive environment at the ACS Athens campus, the academy boasts a professional coaching team of six coaches dedicated to nurturing talent across all ages and skill levels. The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in our Athlete Development and High-Performance Program.
Responsibilities:
Conduct Tennis Lessons:
- Plan and deliver engaging tennis lessons tailored to the age and skill level of students.
- Provide individualized instruction and feedback to help students improve their technique, footwork, and overall game.
Develop Training Programs:
- Collaborate with the coaching team to design and implement comprehensive training programs for athletes participating in the academy's development and high-performance programs.
- Monitor the progress of students and adjust training plans accordingly to ensure continuous improvement.
Promote Sportsmanship and Character Development:
- Instill values of sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork among students, emphasizing the importance of fair play and positive attitudes on and off the court.
- Serve as a mentor and role model for students, fostering their personal growth and character development through the sport of tennis.
Assist with Academy Operations:
- Assist with organizing and coordinating tennis events, tournaments, and competitions hosted by the academy.
- Contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of tennis facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all players.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a tennis instructor or coach, preferably in a school or academy setting.
- Certification or accreditation as a tennis instructor or coach (national or international) is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of all ages.
- Excellent knowledge of tennis techniques, strategies, and rules.
- Passion for working with children and young athletes, with a commitment to their holistic development.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Insurance:
The selected candidate must be capable of operating as a freelancer under TEVE insurance.
Contract Details:
This is a yearly contract with the possibility of renewal. The core duration spans from middle September to middle June, with potential additional responsibilities during the ACS Tennis Camp and ACS Summer Camp, typically from middle June to middle July.

Description: Shadow Teaching is a professional service offered to the school and family to better manage the needs of students who have more demanding learning and behavioral needs.
ACS Athens facilitates the process of helping parents find the right Shadow Teacher who is knowledgeable in the specific needs of the student and provides support in the inclusive classroom environment. Shadow Teaching is a progressive form of assistance that acts as a resource for the school and the parent.
*Shadow Teachers are employed by the families and assist in the communication and collaboration between all parties involved. The ultimate goal of the Shadow Teacher is to guide the student towards independence in school. The Shadow Teacher helps provide the students with continuity in their classes, instills responsibility, fosters independence and encourages learning.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Advocate for student's needs;
- Attend meetings as necessary;
- Demonstrate punctuality;
- Submit payment receipt monthly;
- Be knowledgeable of Agreement stipulations;
- Be knowledgeable in educational support and materials to facilitate curriculum content;
- Follow all school policies;
- Demonstrate flexibility as necessary;
- Demonstrate and implement feedback provided by the school;
- Understands and upholds child protection and safeguarding processes;
- Collaborate with the teacher when the student is not accessing the curriculum level;
- Communicate with OLP Specialist when further accommodations are necessary;
- Create materials, research strategies and interventions to support student needs
- Be knowledgeable in student's specific diagnosis/diagnoses;
- Assist the student to participate appropriately and meaningfully in class;
- Assist the student to function in an environment where there are distractions;
- Provide 1-1 teaching time to ensure review and practice of concepts;
- Be positive and encourage student to persevere;
- Assist student in maintaining self control;
- Maintain boundaries and set limits for students;
- Maintain boundaries and fine balance between home and school;
- Compose effective weekly Log Notes and submit by set deadline;
- Encourage student to ask for help from their teachers;
- Encourage student to build positive and mutually respective peer relationships;
- Provide student with breaks during the day so that they can regroup and concentrate better;
- Establish a transparent and effective line of communication between the student, family, educators, and professionals to provide optimal support throughout the school day;
- Other duties as necessary to support student's individual needs;
- Display ethical and professional behavior;
- Be knowledgeable of ACS Athens' philosophy, mission and vision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's and/or Master's in Special Education, Psychology, Learning Differences, Educational Psychology;
- Appropriate certification/licensure;
- Strong understanding of differentiation and specific learning differences, behavioral/emotional differences and teaching writing and conceptualized mathematics;
- Native English language speaker;
- Understanding and knowledge in child/adolescent psychology and development;
- Strong communication, data analysis, leadership, and organizational skills;
- Strong technology skills (able to use Google Drive apps/formats);
- Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and colleagues;
- Technology skills (able to use MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel);
- Currently contributing to US Social Security and FICA tax, if US citizen;
- Display commitment to safeguarding and protection of children.
