Dr Natassa Yannaca is a Doctor of Psychology and Psychopathology, specialising in children with Asperger Syndrome.

After graduating in French Literature from The University of Athens, she continued her post graduate studies in Clinical Psychology at The Sorbonne, The University of Paris V. She graduated with a Masters Degree in Psycholinguistics, a Masters Degree in Psychology related to Children’s Development and Education and a Doctorate in Psychology and Psychopathology.

Mrs Yannaca has practiced as a Psychologist in Athens and in Larissa for 18 years and in this capacity she advises young children through to adolescents with developmental problems and emotional disturbances as well as learning difficulties and Asperger Syndrome. She has developed a new programme called “Friends’ Play” to develop social skills in children with Asperger Syndrome. She works closely with parents in order to support them on issues of behaviour and communication within the family. She also organises groups for children which aim at strengthening their self esteem. 

She is a founder member and member of the scientific committee of the Hellenic Association for children with Asperger Syndrome.

She participated in the design of a special programme for educators in the context of the Regional (Thessaly) Programmes for Professional Education and was responsible for the Programmes financed by the European Union in the areas of Health, Education and Social Exclusion.

Mrs Yannaca is also lecturing in The University of Thessaly to students studying on the Graduate and Post Graduate Special Education programmes.
