Enrollment Management & Technology Staff
John Papadakis is the Director of Enrollment Management, Technology & Communications at ACS Athens since 2006. After 14 years in the United States, where he served American K-12 education in different capacities as teacher, tutor, and administrator, he returned to Greece.
His studies include an executive M.B.A. degree from the University of Indianapolis (Athens Campus), a B.A. in Communications/Electronic Media from Columbia College Chicago, and an associate degree in electronics engineering from Triton College, IL. He has extensive experience in radio/TV production and has worked as an editor/staff writer in a weekly ethnic newspaper based in Chicago, IL. Mr. Papadakis was the Director of Communications of the Council of Hellenes Abroad (SAE) – North and South America Region, based in Chicago, from 1995-2001, covering and promoting the activities of the ethnic Greek community on the American continent.
Personal business ventures include a TV satellite company representing Dish Network and Greek TV channels in the Midwest; a weekly radio program promoting the activities of the Greek American community; and business consulting services to organizations and businesses in the Chicagoland area. After his arrival in Athens in 2001, he was involved in technology as a training consultant and as a project manager in new media related projects (e-commerce, online Content Management Systems, web 2.0, etc.).
Ms. Tottas, currently the Assistant Director of Enrollment Management, has held several leadership positions at the American Community Schools, Athens. She holds her B.Sc. in Business Administration from the University of Maryland.
Ms. Tottas started her career at ACS Athens, in 1987. She has held numerous positions such as Business Office Assistant, Elementary School Clerk, Middle School Principal’s Secretary, Academy/Middle School Building Secretary. In addition to her responsibilities at ACS Athens, Ms. Tottas also takes pleasure in being strongly involved with student life, including Senior Class Advisor and Assistant to the Graduation Coordinator. Through all her capacities during these years, she has developed a unique insight of the school operations.
Prior to joining ACS Athens, Ms. Tottas was employed at Saudi International Shipping Company, located in Piraeus, where she worked in the Claims Department. She also enjoyed a 3-year career with SONY where she managed the Import Department of Greece. Her personal business ventures include a wide experience in organizing and setting up multiple trade shows and food expositions locally and internationally.
Ms. Tottas is an alumnus of ACS Athens, class of 1982. Her interests include music, travel, sports and reading.
Leo Alexandropoulos was born in Athens and has lived as a child & adult in the U.S. and elsewhere in Europe.
His studies include a B.Sc. in Mathematics / Computer Science (University of Patras); an M.Sc. in Computing & Information Sciences (Oklahoma State University); classes at the University of California at Berkeley, etc.
He worked as a software engineer for Greek and European projects. From 1994 to 2003 he lived in San Francisco where he worked in software technology companies, primarily in the areas of telecommunications / network management systems, security, etc. After an engagement at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games (as a Technology Project Manager), he moved to New York where he worked in Business Development / Marketing / Management and was a partner in a company (importer, wholesaler of architectural aluminum products).
He enjoys mountain biking, Tai chi and obscure music.
Ms. Anagnostopoulou was born in Sydney, Australia and raised in Athens, Greece. She has been working at the Computer Department since 1991. She completed her degree in Computer Information Systems at Deree College, Athens. She also maintains abreast of current IT advancements through Microsoft and other networking seminars.
Mr. Koulyras is the Audio Visual Specialist/Technician JK through 12th grade.
He holds a Diploma in Survey Engineering from the Sydney Institute of Technology, Australia. He worked in Australia for a year as an engineer in land development before coming to Greece.
Mr. Koulyras has been at ACS Athens since 1981 providing Audio Visual services to faculty and students along with new technologies in the classroom.
Marinos Makris is a specialist on networking industry technologies including Microsoft Networks, Cisco Networking and IBM Systems. He has been occupied in the IT Industry since 2005. He has worked for IBM Hellas, on the ITS Department for 3 years.
Ms. Manos joined the Technology Department in 1987 and currently serves as the IT Administrator. She is the NVS (NESA Virtual School) System Administrator for Moodle® and represents ACS Athens at the annual NESA conferences for IT Intranet Administrators.
Leda Tsoukia is a visual artist, designer and illustrator. She has a bachelor degree in Literature from the University of Athens, Greece, and a Master’s of Fine Arts in Animation and Digital Arts from the School of Cinematic Arts of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, USA. Leda has worked in education for several years, teaching Fine Arts and Design classes in the US as well as Athens, Greece. She has been a freelancer in Graphic design, and Illustration for more than 13 years, and has worked in various educational institutions as an Art Director.
In 2004 she worked as a Designer and Project Manager for the ATHENS 2004 OLYMPIC GAMES Organizing Committee, and in 2011 as a Senior Designer for the Organizing Committee, Special Olympics World Summer Games 2011.
In 2013, while working as the Art Director of Publisto LtD, she received the EVGE award for the UI design of an educational app for the iPad.
Since September 2015, Ms. Tsoukia is the Creative/Art Coordinator at ACS Athens, in charge of creating and overseeing the visual design elements associated directly or indirectly with the school brand positioning, public relations and strategic marketing in order to convey the ACS Athens narrative.
