"As time passes, people tend to become, more and more busy and stressed out with their jobs and lifestyles. Even teenagers in high school are stressed out about juggling school, family and personal time. Let's face it, we are all so preoccupied with our own problems that we sometimes forget one of the most rewarding aspects of life ... helping each other."
With these words, ACS Athens 10th Grade student Eleni Polychronidou opens an article about "Becoming a Better Person," in the latest newsletter of the Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit NGO whose activities benefit the wider Athens community through volunteer service work by different individuals, schools and orgnanizations. ACS Athens Counselor Ellen Froustis-Vriniotis has been guiding our students for many years in their volunteer work and involvement in such projects that help boost their civic responsibility spirit and help the community in general.
