A unique element of the Social Studies program at all levels is Field Study, which fosters life-long learning. Students enrolled in the Interdisciplinary Humanities Honors course are afforded unique field study opportunities in Greece—Athens' sites/museums, Ancient Delphi, & Byzantine, Mystra, and in Italy & France. Middle School students are also required to keep field notebooks at each grade level for field trips and other special events.
Other unique classroom activities offered by the Social Studies Department include:
- Truman Trial in Combo
- Development of a unique Business Plan in Business Economics
- Mock United States Presidential Election (including the Primary) in grades 7-12
