Chuck Rowins joined the Center for Talented Youth (CTY) at Johns Hopkins University in 1995 following a twenty-six year career in independent schools as a chaplain and headmaster. He has held a number of administrative positions at CTY, currently serving as Deputy Executive Director. He holds degrees from the University of California at Berkeley, George Washington University, General Theological Seminary in New York City, and Princeton Theological Seminary.
He is a member of the US Department of State’s Advisory Committee on Exceptional Children and Youth. For the last two summers, CTY has co-hosted with the Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE) a workshop at Johns Hopkins on “challenging your most able students.” Chuck helped plan and execute this workshop, which produced draft plans tailored to the participants’ individual schools.
