Dr. Kim Paulsen is currently an Associate Professor of the Practice in Vanderbilt’s Department of Special Education in the area of high-incidence disabilities. She is also the Director of Teacher Education for the department. Dr. Paulsen has taught several methods courses in the area of high-incidence disabilities and over a 12 year period has supervised over 450 practicum students and over 200 student teachers. Dr. Paulsen has 9 years teaching experience with students with high-incidence disabilities. Her current research interests include teaching mathematics to students with disabilities, differentiating instruction, effective field-based supervision, mentoring novice and early career teachers, and translating research to practice for preservice and inservice teachers.
