Parents & Teachers Organization
On behalf of the Parent Teacher Organization we welcome you to the American Community School of Athens. Primary aim of the PTO is to encourage active partnerships in the education of our children and to organize community events through our volunteer service. All proceeds of our community events go directly to benefit the students at the school. Membership is free of charge, and automatic, to all parents, caregivers, teachers, and family members of ACS Athens Students.
Our Mission Statement:
To provide opportunities for parents and teachers to meet in an atmosphere of friendliness and understanding that they cooperate in:
A: Advancing the school’s standard of education
B: Assisting the school to meet the administrative and program needs.
Our annual traditional events are:
1) Welcome-Back Barbecue
2) Holiday Bazaar
3) Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week
4) Spring Fair
We welcome you as parents and urge you to actively participate in the great community. We meet in the Conference Center, located in the Administrative Building, at 10:00 a.m. every second Tuesday of the month. Please check your calendar for dates. Our meetings are preceded by the Elementary Principal’s Coffee and followed by the Middle School and Academy Principal’s Coffee. Please come and join us.
