Completion of at least 3 years of French language coures or based on a placement test.

Course description

This is an online French course for learners who have completed at least three years of French. The four skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking – are expanded to a more advanced level. Students review and refine important grammatical structures while learning new vocabulary to communicate in French on a variety of topics. French culture is introduced with every opportunity. This course requires analytical thinking and use of the French language. Themes such as family, racism, civilization, technology, leisure, sports, health and every day’s life are discussed. Learning activities and different assignments are completed based on these themes.

Learning Goals:

The student will have the opportunity to:

  • Respond and react to questions and ideas (familiar and spontaneous situations) in a familiar but also in a more sophisticated manner
  • Maintain a logical continuity in the conversation
  • Correctly use a range of vocabulary
  • Correctly use a range of grammatical structures and syntax
  • Use a format and structure appropriate to the task
  • Identify aspects of format and style of a piece of writing
  • Write and communicate with a particular audience in mind
  • Provide information and ideas
  • Show accuracy in spelling or writing of characters
