Artemis Kouki’s journey is defined by quiet determination, steady leadership, and a global perspective that took root at ACS Athens.
Her inspiring story was recently featured in Western Michigan University’s Business Magazine, recognizing her as a rising leader in both athletics and academics. ACS Athens is proud to have been part of her story, from the classrooms and basketball court of our campus, to the leadership roles she now holds at WMU. Artemis continues to lead with heart, courage and global awareness—exemplifying the values we strive to instill in all our students.
Before heading to the United States, Artemis was already a dedicated student-athlete, representing Greece as a member of the U16 National Team while also playing on the ACS Athens Varsity Girls Basketball team. Her time at ACS Athens gave her more than just athletic experience; it nurtured her ability to lead in diverse environments, think globally, and balance academics and athletics with purpose.
After graduating from ACS Athens in 2021, Artemis took a bold step attending Western Michigan University, where she faced the challenge of adapting to a new country, culture, and the high demands of NCAA Division I athletics. She embraced every aspect of this transition and quickly became a respected voice both on and off the court.
Today, Artemis is thriving as co-captain of WMU’s women’s basketball team and an outstanding student majoring in Human Resource Management. Her leadership style is grounded in empathy, consistency and a deep commitment to supporting others. Without seeking the spotlight, she has earned the trust of her teammates and the admiration of faculty—leading through actions and example.
Through her studies, Artemis has developed a strong passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and she now envisions a future career in human resources where she can help create inclusive workplaces that value different perspectives and backgrounds.
From ACS Athens to Western Michigan University, she continues to lead with heart, strength, and a global perspective, inspiring those around her to do the same.
