Prerequisite: Successful completion of ELA2 or appropriate score on the Placement Test for new students.

This course focuses on developing language skills for students approaching a higher level of intermediate English proficiency. Students learn to apply advanced grammar structures and academic vocabulary to increasingly demanding reading, writing, listening, and speaking activities. Emphasis is placed on expository and narrative essay writing, interpretive reading, and summarizing. Students further develop skills in literary analysis and research. Oral skills are developed through presentations and group discussions. The course corresponds to the B2 level of CEFR.
