1) When will parents and students know if a selected course will run?

At the very latest, the week before the program begins, we will have the registrations completed. This is because we honor last minute registrations, thus the delay.

2) What are the hours that the course runs during the day?

Either 9:00am - 12:00pm or 12:30pm - 3:30pm. The courses run three hours a day, everyday from Monday to Friday in air- conditioned rooms with activities planned throughout the day in and out of classrooms. Depending on the registration process we will plan the courses in such a way to allow for maximum participation. Some students register for two courses. Creating the schedule, a week before allows us the flexibility to offer students their first choice, to the best of our ability.

3) What is the maximum number of courses a student can sign up for in the Learning Commons Summer Scholars Program?

Students can register for up to two courses.

4) Will there be homework?

Approximately 50 minutes of asynchronous work will be conducted by the students in the form of a project. The details will be discussed by the faculty member at the beginning of each course, the idea is that the students learn through constructing knowledge. This work will be done at home to reinforce the concepts, skills and dispositions learned.

5) Can a student take one course and, in the afternoon or in the morning, join the ACS Athens Summer Camp?

Yes.

6) Is transportation to and from ACS Athens provided?

Yes, you would have to make individual arrangements with the Transportation office. Please contact Mr. Mario Nikolis, 210.6070239.

7) May students join the courses virtually?

These courses are face to face and follow a constructivist approach to learning thus joining virtually would not be possible.

8) Who may I contact for more information?

Ms. Garbis: garbism@acs.gr, Ms. Papaioannou: papaioannoum@acs.gr, Ms. Augoustatos: augoustatosm@acs.gr.

9) What grade level should students enter on the Google form?

Students should enter their current grade level and not next year’s grade level.

10) Do all high school courses earn high school credit?

Yes, but only for the high school students attending.
