The ACS Athens debate team has two very important reasons to celebrate the Deree Invitational that took place November 19 to 20, 2021, just before Thanksgiving break.
First, this was the first live debate tournament to take place since the outbreak of the pandemic.
With strict health guidelines and safety protocols in place, students from many different schools in the Athens area had the opportunity to participate in the world of debate.
It was amazing to feel the buzz and excitement in the air after so many months of online tournaments.
Yet the ACS Athens debate team has one more reason to celebrate, and that is its amazing performance at the tournament. With one team making it to the semi finals, another ranking within the top 10 teams, and our three novice teams making it into the novice finals, there is much to be proud of and hopeful for.
