As Tuesday marked the 2020 United States Presidential election, making it the 59th quadrennial presidential election, ACS Athens also held its own "Mock US Presidential" elections!

All  grade 8-12 students were asked to participate in this mock Presidential election, voting for the candidate of their choice and experiencing the election process firsthand.

This process was even more special for the 10th grade, as the “Combo 10” class got down to the issues and examined what exists behind each candidate’s true beliefs and proposed policies.

The "Combo 10" class student groups researched a candidate’s stance and proposed policies on assigned issues. They created detailed arguments to persuade the American People of their position in the form of Mock Debates.

According to Hercules Lianos and Marla Coklas, ACS Athens teachers of Combo 10 American Studies, "Students investigated, debated, and deepened their understanding of the significance of the American political landscape."

An overall exciting experience for all participants, ACS Athens thanks everyone for casting their votes!
