Our youngest learners, from JK through Grade 1, were delighted to welcome guest author and illustrator Tad Hills to our school for a morning of laughter, creativity, and storytelling.
From the moment he began, Mr. Hills had students giggling with knock-knock jokes from his early books and joyfully playing along with word sounds and meanings. His interactive reading style kept every listener engaged and eager to join in.
Mr. Hills shared several of his popular stories, which highlight themes of friendship, curiosity, and problem-solving. Students were especially fascinated to learn how his beloved character Rocket the dog came to life and grew into the star of an entire emergent reader series.
As a special surprise, Mr. Hills gifted our school with original, hand-drawn illustrations that will soon be framed and proudly displayed in the elementary library. He also left behind a set of stuffed animal friends—Duck, Goose, and Rocket to keep our young readers company during storytime.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Hills for inspiring joy, imagination, and a lifelong love of reading in our early learners.
