"Our Town is a play written by Thorton Wilder in 1938.  It takes place in small-town America at the dawn of the 1900s and deals with the lives of everyday people; people who could have been our friends, neighbors, or colleagues. The author gives value to the simple moments of our lives -happy or sad- which pass very quickly unnoticed, unobserved, and underappreciated. Thorton Wilder chooses to throw light on those moments to make us acknowledge their value, appreciate, and celebrate them. He seems to be saying, life is in the now so enjoy every moment, live every minute. Happiness lies in those simple everyday gestures, routines, and rituals. Don't let your life pass you by. Live, love, and celebrate every second of your life because it goes away forever and it never comes back.

We have chosen this play because it deals with themes that we find powerful and relevant to our experience. In our rehearsals, we explored ideas such as community spirit, family bonds, and the notions of love and loss. We worked together as a team and half of the group undertook the acting parts while the other half undertook the creative roles. The Music, stage sets, costumes, and lighting were all researched, designed, and executed by students. The teacher's only role was to believe, encourage and support the students' vision. We gave the best of ourselves, we worked as a team, and we managed to create some beautiful moments on stage that we will always remember and cherish."
