The Artistic Map of Aperi was the lifelong dream of ACS Athens Vasilis Mikros-Mikropandremenos, meticulously drawn with pencil and deep respect for his community on the island of Karpathos. His vision inspired several volunteers, who contributed to this unique project by adding watercolor details and bilingual text (Greek-English).
The map was created with two key purposes: first, to introduce both locals and visitors to the village’s cultural sites and monuments, and second, to instill in future generations an appreciation for the 'hidden treasures' within their community. By recognizing these cultural landmarks, younger generations would better understand the importance of preserving and protecting their heritage—an essential link between the past and present that ensures their connection to history and tradition.
