ACS Athens proudly hosted its annual Junior Varsity and Varsity Sports Banquet: a tradition that brings together student-athletes, coaches, and families to celebrate a year of athletic achievement, growth, and teamwork.

This year’s banquet was made even more memorable by the presence of our distinguished guest speaker, Evina Maltsi: Olympian, former Greek National Team captain, WNBA athlete with the Connecticut Sun, Women’s EuroBasket MVP, and 2025 Women’s EuroBasket Ambassador.

In her address, Ms. Maltsi shared her personal journey, encouraging student-athletes to pursue their dreams with purpose and determination. She emphasized the importance of setting clear goals and striving for excellence both on the court and in the classroom. This message resonated with our students and the school’s mission of developing well-rounded citizens of the world.

The evening was filled with meaningful moments, team recognitions, and special awards that celebrated not just athletic performance, but the Lancer values of discipline, effort, pride, sportsmanship, motivation, and respect. Scholar Athletes of the year was awarded to Maria Iliadi and Micah Creel. Senior Athletes of the year was awarded to Eugenia Dourida and Iordanis Mygdalis.

The Sports Banquet remains a highlight of the school year. As our athletes look ahead to new seasons and new goals, they do so with renewed motivation and the knowledge that they are part of a proud and supportive 80-year legacy.
