The ACS Athens Sports Banquet brought together student-athletes, coaches, families, and members of the school community for an evening of celebration and recognition, marking the conclusion of another successful athletic season.
The event honored the hard work, dedication, sportsmanship, and achievements of ACS Athens athletes across all Junior Varsity and Varsity teams. Throughout the evening, teams reflected on memorable moments from the season, celebrated accomplishments, and recognized the commitment and perseverance that helped make this year a success.
Athletes were recognized for their participation and contributions to ACS Athens Athletics, receiving letters, pins, and certificates in acknowledgment of their dedication throughout the year. In addition to team recognition, several students were honored for outstanding individual achievements.
A special highlight of the evening was a video message from ACS Athens alumnus (Class of 2010) and accomplished water polo athlete Konstantinos Genidounias, who shared inspiring words of encouragement and motivation, emphasizing the values of hard work, resilience, and leadership.
The Athlete of the Year awards were presented to Maria Iliadi and Micah Creel in recognition of their exceptional athletic achievements, leadership, and contributions to ACS Athletics.
The Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards were presented to Natalia Papasotiriou-Chatzigianni and Loukis Avgoustides for their outstanding ability to excel both academically and athletically.
Following the awards ceremony, guests enjoyed a catered reception, providing an opportunity for athletes, coaches, families, and friends to connect, celebrate the season's accomplishments, and capture memorable moments together.
