2007 All Class/All School Reunion in GreeceThe all classes/all school stateside reunion will be held at the LOEWS HOTEL (1200 Market Street) right in the heart of the City. This is a beautiful hotel with lots of amenities (and its own history that dates way back).
The room rate is $ 119.00 per night (with a 15. 2% room tax—we can’t avoid that). You do not have to rent a car to get around. The bus services, cabs and “the Pflash” are all very reasonable. Of course, you can walk to just about everywhere. If you do decide to drive, the hotel has its own enclosed parking structure and is part of the hotel. The discounted rate is $ 25 per day.
You can also share a room with someone and save some money too!!
Call the hotel and book your room now!! Tell them you are with the ACS Alumni Greek Group. Our group rate is available 3 days before and 3 days after the event, so arrive early and stay late. The group block expires August 19, 2010. However, I have only blocked a certain number of rooms so make your reservation early in case I have to do some more negotiating for more rooms.
The cab fare from the airport to the hotel is a flat $ 28.50 and takes about 15-20 minutes. You can also take the Train from the airport for about $ 7.00 and the hotel stop is about 6 blocks away. Cab sharing from the airport is also possible. I’ll keep a chart and see if we can manage this. Once you book your ticket let me know your flights and I’ll keep you posted on who is arriving when and you can make your plans.
In addition to the room cost, the registration fee is $ 250.00 per person (children’s fee available for meal functions) cash, check, money order or credit card; $ 270.00 if using a credit card (more because the companies charge a fee for processing).
The full registration fee includes:
Thursday night: Welcome to Philly Reception
Friday night: “Greek Taverna” buffet Dinner/Party
Saturday night: Banquet and party, plus access to our Hospitality Suite the entire weekend which will be stocked with munchies, soft drinks etc.
**Of course, you can choose from the a-la-cart section and only pay for what you wish to participate. Cannot accommodate last minute “At the door” dinner reservations.
Don’t have the full fee now-payment arrangement can be made---just ask.
Payment due: All registration fees are due by August 1, 2010. If you pay in full by January 31, 2010 take a 10% discount (pay $ 225.00 per person)
Credit Cards: You can pay with your credit card if you have a PayPal account. If you don’t have one—open one—there is no charge for doing this and can make things easier for you. Type in the payee wich is ann.stiles@ruden.com and type the amount you are paying . This account is linked to an account (ACS Stateside Alumni Association that has been opened for this reunion. One can also pay by check using PayPal.

I have purposely not arranged for any tours as there is so much to do and see, I could not choose. Brochures will be available in the Hospitality Suite for you to decide for yourselves. However, there will be a walking tour with “Uncle Bobby.” He will walk with you and give you history and highlights of this wonderful city. The walk is approximately 2 hours (with stops) and still give you time to take in other sites. The cost is $15.00 per person and will be on Friday and Saturday morning (the time will be provided at a later date). The walk is limited to 15 people per walk.
Incentives: Persuade alumni/teachers who have never attended an ACS Athens Stateside Reunion to register and pay and you will get $$ off your registration fee (you will receive your refund check at the reunion):
6-alumni/teachers-$ 30.00 refund;
12-alumni/teachers-$ 65.00 refund;
18-alumni/teachers-$ 120.00 refund
24-alumni/no registration fee ($ 250.00 refund)
More than that-we’ll talk
There will be a place on the registration form to include names you have contacted and confirmed. Please keep me posted as to who you have found so I can chart it. Postmarks will determine who gets the refund if duplicate names appear.
Refund policy of registration fee:
Full refund until-including May 31, 2010
50% refund June 1-including July 1, 2010;
25% refund July 2 until-including August 1, 2010;
NO refunds August 2 or beyond.
Remember, this is an open event which is open to your families and friends as well as Alumni and teachers of all years—some may not want to participate in our functions, but may want to come and enjoy the city at a great hotel rate.
I know this is a lot of information to absorb, but take your time and re-read it a couple of times.
Alumni who do not have email and register to attend will receive periodic update via US Postal Service.

What the fee pays for: dinners, Dj’s, munchies for hospitality suite, dance floor, photographer, expenses, tips, taxes, postage, paper, and printing.
So-in summary-reunion-9/16-19/2010 in Philly-cost is $250 per person-(plus room fee of $119 per night, plus your transportation to get there).
