ACS Athens join efforts with hundreds of volunteers

Planting more than 40,000 trees in Mount Penteli

initiated by SKAI and local environmental clubs

ACS Athens joins hundreds of volunteers in a city-wide effort, this Sunday, January 25, to re-forest a burnt portion of Mount Penteli by planting 40,000 trees. Sign-up sheets for interested students from the Elementary, Middle and High School are available until this Thursday Jan. 22 in bulletin boards and offices across the campus. Reforestation will occur in the burnt area of Kokkinaras (see map of the area and the related article in Greek at SKAI's web site). A bus will leave ACS Athens at 9:30 for Penteli.

ACS Athens participates in several such projects each year and is proud to support this effort of re-forestation in Penteli which is part of an ongoing SKAI TV Channel & Radio Station campaign to raise awareness and volunteerism among Greeks about the environment.
